KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 22

President Ramchandra Paudel stated that Nepal serves as a source country for Eastern traditions of knowledge, emphasizing that unity and solidarity among diverse cultures and civilizations are evident in such knowledge and traditions.

Inaugurating the Mahakumbha alongside the Kotihom Mahayagya at Baidhanath Dham in Achham district on Thursday, the President underscored that fostering harmony and unity among different castes, religions, and ethnic and religious communities is the primary goal of the federal democratic republic.

He further noted that the constitution envisions the protection of all religions and cultures.

President Paudel highlighted that the auspicious initiation of the Kotihom may inspire individuals to embody the philosophy of the federal democratic republic.

He emphasized that the state's social and cultural objectives should manifest through maintaining social harmony, solidarity, and assimilation while respecting cultural diversities and cultivating a healthy and civilized culture.

Expressing pleasure towards the reconstruction of a temple through government and public participation after the formation of the Baidhanath Area Development Organization, President Paudel emphasized the need for developing infrastructures by formulating a master plan for the comprehensive development of the area.

He expressed the belief that contributing to the nation-building process involves developing religious and historical sites as attractive tourist destinations, incorporating them into the budget and policies of all three levels of government.

In his address, the President urged everyone to work towards unlocking the tourism potential of the site.

Additionally, he expressed extreme happiness to visit such a sacred place, which serves as the location of deity temples and the penance site of Rishi.
