Reshuffle on cards: Dahal

Pokhara, June 20

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has hinted at the possibility of a reshuffle in the Cabinet in the near future.

Speaking at a press meet here today, Dahal said he and the prime minister had dwelt on replacing ministers with poor performance.

Commenting on the government decision to withdraw the Guthi Bill, Dahal said it was a sensible thing to do. “Whatever the government has done or is doing is for the people. The government was left with no option but to withdraw the bill after thousands took to the streets protesting the bill,” said Dahal.

He, however, added that the Media Council Bill would not be withdrawn. “The government is ready to address genuine concerns about the bill by amending controversial provisions through parliamentary proceedings. But the bill won’t be withdrawn,” he said.
