JHAPA, JULY 6
Shops, hotels, and restaurants opened in Jhapa from today. According to the DCCMC's decision, these businesses have been allowed to operate from 6:00am to 5:00pm. Besides, vehicles have also been allowed to ply from today on odd-even basis.
Interestingly, the DCCMC's decision to ease restrictions coincides with the highest number of day-wise confirmed COVID cases in the district in the past week. Meanwhile, this is the second time the DCCMC has decided to ease restrictions in the district despite an uptick in COVID cases. Earlier too, the DCCMC, on June 28, had decided to loosen restrictions a bit amidst the highest daily increase of cases in the week.
Regarding COVID cases, the district registered 229 new cases today alone.
