Rift in ex-rebels’ ranks over leaders’ fraudulent ways

Majority of the members of the CPN-Maoist party in Sunsari district committee have threatened to lunch a revolt, alleging some leadership members of involving in embezzlement of fund. Fifty six district members, heads of the class organisations and others at a press conference today in Sunsari warned of group rebellion and exposure if the leadership failed to check the corruption.
Joint Front Struggle Committee was formed in the participation of the discontent CPN-Maoist district members, heads of the class organisations and cadres, said the speakers at the press conference. Maoists’ Sunsari district committee member Gajendra Palungwa of the Maoists chaired the struggle committee.

Meyangbo (Mukesh), regional secretary Jagadish Sapkota and district member Lilu Poudel demanded severe action against those who embezzled hundreds of millions of rupees in the pretext of settling disputes in the district.
Gajendra Palungwa, coordinator, struggle committee, said that they had the evidences of the corruption to substantiate the charges. “If the central committee failed to suspend them by 15 days, the committee would take up exposure campaign,” he said, adding that the district leadership was involved in scandals.
