Rotor bounces off Fishtail Air chopper in Langtang; no one hurt

KATHMANDU: A rotor of a Fishtail Air helicopter bounced off the chopper in Langtang village of Rasuwa district on Thursday, the Chief District Officer said.

The chopper was about to take off and it immediately stopped after the accident, the CDO Krishna Prasad Adhikari told THT Online over phone.

No one was hurt in the accident as only the pilot was at the incident site during the time.

Adhikari said a private company had chartered the 9N-AJI chopper to ferry construction materials to the quake-hit village. The helicopter had loaded the materials from the district headquarters Dhunche.

"Around four to five locals were planning to fly on the helicopter to Dhunche," Adhikari said, "But, before they boarded the flight, the rotor got off the chopper with a big bang at around 3:45 pm today."

The airlines company meanwhile sent another helicopter to take stock of the situation, according to CDO Adhikari.
