Royalists opposing govt-MJF pact: Yadav
Itahari, September 3:
Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) chairman Upendra Yadav today described all those opposing the MJF’s 22-point accord with government as royalists.
He said these forces did not want the constituent assembly (CA) election to be held in the Madhes and added that they wanted to ensure that Madhes remained in turmoil. He said this while speaking after inaugurating the first district convention of the Madhesi Students’ Front in Inaruwa of Sunsari district.
Yadav told the gathering that all those staging bandhs, agitations and chakkajam to protest the MJF-government 22-point accord were royalists.
He urged his party cadres to remain steadfast and not fall into any trap and said that only the election to constituent assembly would solve the problems of the Madhes.
Yadav also said that MJF central committee member Biswas and others were opposing the accord only for the sake of their own vested interests. “The 22-point accord is no ruse. It is a historic victory of the Madhesi people,” he said, adding that the pact had addressed all the major demands of the Madhesi people.
Urging the agitating Tarai groups to learn from the MJF’s experience, he asked them to go to the dialogue table and negotiate with the government.
“I appeal to all of you to make the CA polls a success. The solution to all problems will follow naturally,” he said. Yadav also directed his party cadres to work unitedly with the eight political parties and make the CA polls a success.
