Kathmandu, February 15:
Internal discussions among the leaders of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have intensified following the directives of the party chairman Pashupati SJB Rana “to remain silent on the Royal Move” until the party formally decides on it. “Consultations among the party leaders about the party’s future strategy is on,” said party spokesperson Roshan Karki, adding that the party is currently adopting a “wait and watch” policy.
Even as a majority of the party leaders have reportedly been pressurising the party leadership to back the King’s move, Karki informed that the party’s formal stand will be decided by the party central working committee (CWC) meeting, which she said would be held somewhere “within this week.” Party vice-chairman Padma Sunder Lawati, however, has been insisting that the meeting be called immediately. Lawati is among the several leaders who have called the King’s move “timely and juducious.”
