Kathmandu, March 14:
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has demanded that, in keeping with King Gyanendra’s promise earlier, the government announce the dates for the general election within the second week of April. A meeting of the RPP’s parliamentary committee today, chaired by Bishwa Bandhu Thapa, issued the call for announcement of dates. “The meeting considers that peace and the election are complementary and the King himself has expressed commitment to it during his public felicitations held in Nepalgunj and Pokhara and during his address to the nation on the occasion of the Democracy Day,” a RPP statement said. It asked the government to hold talks with parties.
