Dang, September 10 :

A group of looters made away with property worth around Rs 6 million from motorcyclists at Chyaukhola in Lamahi-Kohalpur sector of Mahendra Highway last night.

They took cash around Rs 6 million and two mobile sets from the passengers, said a passenger, Krishna Pokhrel, a resident of Gorahi.

The looters stopped four persons including Krishna Pokhrel, Basanta Shrestha and Man Bahadur Chaudhari at Chyaukhola, who were heading to Dang from Nepalgunj on motorbikes.

The looters kept on with their looting spree from seven pm to 10:30 pm at 30 km west of Lamahi.

The group looted cash and kind from four motorcyclists and around 600 passengers from 16 buses, and two trucks by obstructing the highway.

The looters also took away with them clothes, citizenship certificates and licences and other materials from the people, said a victim, Man Bahadur Chaudhari.

Police have gone to the site. Passengers informed about the incident to area police office (Lamahi) in the midnight.
