Rs 7.5 lakh looted in Pokhara

POKHARA: A gang of robbers on Tuesday morning around 11:30 robbed Rs 750,000 from Manoj Chauhan, a staff of Binod Enterprises, from the premises of Himalayan Bank Limited, in New Road, Pokhara where he had gone to deposit it. Our correspondent reported that the gang fled with the amount after deceiving him while he was standing in a queue to deposit the money.

Saroj Gayal, a staff of Binod Enterprises, informed, “The robbers deceived Chauhan saying that he had dropped his money. While Chauhan was searching for the money, the robbers grabbed the amount that he was carrying and fled.” Gayal accused the bank staff and guards of not cooperating in calling the police though they were immediately informed about the incident by Chauhan.

The police suspect the involvement of two persons in the incident and said that they had intensified the search for the suspects.
