Siraha, September 19:

An armed gang looted Rs one lakh from a person in Siraha this morning.

Binod Yadav, a native of Ayodhyanagar ward number 5 in Siraha was looted by the gang of three armed persons near Gagan khola on the East-West Highway while he was on the way home from Golbazaar of the district.

The gang was using a YBX motorbike with registration no 1839 with unclear alphabets.

After the gang was unsuccessful in looting Yadav near the khola, the gang members followed him and fired one round of shot at him.

Yadav said soon after he heard the sound of bullets he fell on the ground out of fear and the gang was able to loot the sum from his pocket.

The area police office confirmed the incident. It said that an investigation into the looting incident is underway.
