Rastriya Swatantra Party's candidate for member of House of Representatives from Bara Constituency-1 has received threat asking him to withdraw his candidacy from the Nepali Congress' Co-General Secretary and Minister Umakant Chaudhary.
Swatantra Party's candidate Ganesh Dhimal said that Minister Chaudhary had reached the former's home and threatened him to withdraw his candidacy. "Withdraw your candidacy and support me. Otherwise, my boys may do anything if I lose the the upcoming elections," Dhimal quoted Chaudhary as saying. Dhimal said that Chaudhary had threatened to take his life if he did not withdraw his candidacy. Chaudhary, along with 50 youths had reached Dhimal's house and pressed him to withdraw his nomination.
Earlier, Dhimal was a member of Nepali Congress' Madhes Province before he threw his hat in the ring to contest the polls from Swatantra Party. Minister Chaudhary is the Nepali Congress candidate from the same constituency.
