KATHMANDU, JUNE 20
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said the party remains firmly committed to democracy and the federal democratic republican system.
Addressing a meeting ahead of the party's general convention in Chitwan on Saturday, Lamichhane said the RSP stands on the foundation of the Constitution and the political changes achieved through the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations.
"We are proud of the federal democratic republic and will not deviate from democratic values," he said.
Emphasising the importance of internal democracy, Lamichhane warned that weakening democratic practices within political parties could lead to serious consequences. He also urged party leaders and cadres to act as responsible citizens and avoid unhealthy competition.
Expressing confidence in the upcoming general convention, he said the gathering would help make the party more organised and dynamic.
