Rukum East jeep accident death toll reaches 7
KATHMANDU: Death toll in Rukum East jeep accident has reached seven. Four people lost their lives on the spot while three succumbed to their injuries in course of treatment at the District Public Health Office.
According to Rukum East District Police Office chief DSP Prabin Lal Shrestha, the ill fated jeep fell around 100 metres down the road today afternoon.
The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 2573) en route to Dhaulapaira from Rukumkot crashed at Dharpani.
The deceased have been identified as Shalini Barma (31), Kiran Pun (22), Kumar Pun (35), Buddhiraj Pun and Tirsana Tulachan of Puthauttarganga Rural Municipality, Lalita Pariyar (22) of Kohalpur, Banke, and Arjun BK (28) of Bhume Rural Municipality.
Four persons including the driver of the vehicle Jaya Bir Kami, who were injured have been airlifted to Kathmandu.
Pramila Buda Magar (25), Dhaniram Pun, and Samjhana Pun (27) are among the injured.
