Russian national dies while paragliding at Sarangkot
POKHARA: A Russian national lost his life in a paragliding accident at Sarangkot of Pokhara on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Dmitri Stepanishin, according to the chief at Kaski District Police Office, Superintendent of Police Om Rana.
The incident occurred at 11:35 am today when Stepanishin, who was paragliding solo, lost control of his glide some moments after the flight and crashed onto the ground.
According to police, seriously injured Stepanishin was rushed to Metrocity Hospital at Srijanachok in Pokhara. However, he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Earlier, on Sunday, a Romanian national had also lost his life in a paragliding accident, while a Polish national suffered injuries after he came into contact with a live wire while making a touchdown attempt while paragliding on Monday.
