Sakarpura declared child marriage-free zone

Sakarpura of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality- 3, Saptari, was declared a child marriage-free zone today.
The ward was declared child marriage-free zone amidst a function. “No girls and boys below 20-year got married in Sakarpura in the past two years and locals are committed to continue the same in the days to come. Hence, we declared the ward a child marriage-free zone,” said Mohit Chaudhary, Gauwal Conservation Committee Coordinator.
Youth Development Programme coordinator Ratna Thapa said the ward was declared child marriage-free zone as there were no cases of child marriage in the past two years.
The programme was chaired by ward chairperson Manoj Chaudhary. Participants of the programme underscored the need of discouraging child marriages.
Save the Children has taken this initiation through its youth development programme.
