BHOJPUR: A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a motorbike in Khandbari-8 of Sankhuwasabha district in eastern Nepal on Sunday.

Police identified the victim as Muga Devi Khatiwada (68), a resident of Ikuwa, Khandbari-8.

She was hit by the two-wheeler (me 5 Pa 7191) heading to Manebhanjyang from Khandbari at a point along the Num-Khandbari road section, according to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.

Khatiwada had sustained serious injuries in the accident and breathed her last while being taken to the District Hospital.

Meanwhile, police impounded the bike and arrested the rider.

Further investigation is underway.
