RAJBIRAJ: Regular activities at the District Education Office, Saptari, have been affected due to lack of adequate number of staffers. The office has only 14 staffers, four of whom are peons, out of the 21 slots presently.

Officials admitted that services had not been discharged efficiently as the office was understaffed. The employees have not received their monthly salaries for the last four months since District Education Officer Kedar Tiwari has been absent for the past two months. One of the two section officers has also not been attending the office.

Section officer Ramdev Chaudhari is working as the acting chief of the office and handling most of the duties. None of the five school inspectors is present in the office. ‘’Higher authorities have not taken our problem seriously despite our repeated requests,” said Chaudhari.
