SC calls Mahottari judge for sexual harassment inquiry

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday called Mahottari District Court Judge, Purna Prasad Bastola, who is accused of sexually abusing a woman in a drunken stupor, for an inquiry.

According to Bishwa Raj Paudel, Assistant Spokesperson of the SC, Bastola has been told to present himself before the Supreme Court and furnish clarification on the accusations.

Paudel informed that Bastola has not been suspended yet.

Date of hearing on the case will be fixed after Paudel presents himself to the apex court, he added.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, an inebriated judge had allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at the Shish Mahal Hotel in Bardibas.
