SC orders KC to present himself within three days

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an order, asking senior orthopaedic surgeon Govinda KC to be present in court in three days.

A single bench of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli issued the order on a contempt of court case. "Come to court in three days to furnish reply whether the words you've spoken are subject to contempt of court," CJ Parajuli said in the order, adding that Dr KC's views on CJ's citizenship certificates and educational certificates were offensive and disrespectful.

On February 28, Govinda Bohara had filed a contempt of court case against Dr KC, reasoning his words were subjected to insult.

Meanwhile, the SC has decided to give final verdict on contempt of court case against the Kantipur Media Group through a full bench.

A division bench of Justices Bam Bahadur Shrestha and Dambar Bahadur Shahi issued an order to hold final hearing through a full bench in view of the seriousness of the issue.
