BAJURA, JULY 31
Construction of buildings of Jana Prakash Secondary School at Bajura's Budhinanda Municipality has been abandoned on the part of the contractor for the past eight years.
The school building is being constructed with financial assistance provided by Indian Embassy. An agreement was signed to construct the building in 2016.
The agreement says the construction would be completed in 15 months. But, only 15 per cent work has been completed so far, according to a staff of District Coordination Committee, Bajura.
The building was estimated to cost Rs 44,472,444.
A source at the District Coordination Committee said that the embassy had provided the assistance for construction of two hostels and one school building. Till now, Rs 12,018,935 has been spent on building construction so far. A school source said that work was left in the lurch due to the contractor company Galwa Construction Service Private Limited's negligence.
Then local development officer Arjun Prasad Subedi said that construction work would have to resume from scratch as structures had become dilapidated.
