School textbooks will be available on time, says Tanahun DEO

The District Education Office Tanahun today directed all book traders to ensure that all school level text- books are available across the district before the third week of April.

According to Assistant District Education Officer Babu Ram Devkota, the DEO and the Textbooks Distribution Management District Monitoring Committee directed text book entrepreneurs to supply the books before the beginning of the new session.

“A total budget of Rs 16.9 million has been released to supply text books for 60,000 students from grades I to X of the district. In case the budget is not enough, the authority has been asked to demand for more following necessary procedures.

Principals of all schools have been directed to use only the books approved by Janak Education Materials Ltd,” said Tanahun District Education Officer Top Bahadur Shrestha.

DEO Shrestha said that schools are not allowed to sell books from the school premises or to impose any syndicate.

“If any school is found breaching the code of conduct, the District Monitoring Committee will take action against them,” he said. Colouring books will be provided for students of grades I and II, said Assistant DEO Devkota.
