School that shuts only on Saturdays
Sankhuwasabha, July 16:
A high school located in Chepuwa VDC-3 of Sankhuwasabha district has been running its classes throughout the year, except on Saturdays.
According to Sankhuwasabha district education office, unlike other schools, Arunodaya High School runs its classes even during public holidays.
The school has 450 students. Children from Hatiya, Chepuwa, Pawakhola and Kimathanka VDCs come here to study, headmaster of the school, Kidsan Lama, said, adding, “As Chepuwa is not connected with communication network, we are in the dark about public holidays.”
There are 21 primary schools in neighbouring VDCs. After completing the primary-level education, students of 21 primary schools come to seek admission in this school. Headmaster Kidsan added that the school has been running its classes on holidays as per the wishes of students and guardians.
Last year, all SLC examinees of this school got passed.
The school provides quality education, Chhendum Bhote, a former student of the school, said. Due to quality education, some 12 students, who had gone to Khandbari, the district headquarters, to look for quality education, have returned to the school, resource person of the school Raj Kumar Rai said.
