Three local levels in Kanchanpur district have shut all academic institutions for three days as a precaution against excessive cold.
Laljhadhi Rural Municipality, Belauri Municipality and Beldadi Rural Municipality announced the closure of both community and institutional schools from Monday to Wednesday to protect children's health.
Local governments have urged parents to keep children indoors and take necessary precautions against the cold wave. The lost academic days will be adjusted by reducing the winter vacation, Laljhadhi Rural Municipality said.
Meanwhile, daily life and market activities in the district headquarters have been affected, with reduced public movement due to the biting cold.
