Schools yet to get cassettes of national anthem
Surkhet, November 30:
Schools in the rural areas of the district have not got any cassette or the script of the national anthem even though nine months have passed since it was made public for the first time.
The District Education Office (DEO) has sent circulars to the schools to sing the national anthem every day, but the schools have not received a copy of it yet.
“We have received neither the cassette nor the script,” the headmaster of Sarada Primary School at Bidhyapur VDC-3, Moti Prasad Sapkota, said.
“We have not taught the national anthem to the students as we have not got its copy.”
He said the DEO should have taken initiatives to provide the national anthem to the schools.
“If we get the cassettes of the national anthem, it will be easy to teach its tune to our students,” a teacher at Samuha Primary School, Jung Bahadur Thapa, said.
“The script and cassettes of the national anthem could not be sent to all schools,” supervisor at the DEO Mahendra Bohara said.
He said the teachers can learn the tune at training organised for them, and they in turn can teach the same to the students.
