Scribes maltreated
Dang, April 20:
Maoists from the PLA cantonment at Dahaban in Rolpa district yesterday took under control two journalists and released them after two hours.
They took under control Bardiya correspondent of The Himalayan Times Damodar Bhandari and the correspondent of Himal Magazine Rameshwor Bohara. Maoist division commander Sarad and secretary Abinash, saying that the journalists came to spy on them, took them under control and also seized their motorbike, said Bhandari and Bohara who reached Ghorahi today.
The Maoists seized them as the two were trying to take photographs of an all-party discussion on the issue of providing drinking water to the Dahaban cantonment.
“We were released at 6 pm on the condition of meeting them tomorrow,” Bhandari and Bohara said.
