Nepalgunj, April 22:

Nepali Congress general secretary Sushil Koirala has said that the people should gear up for action. Koirala, who is still in security forces’ custody in District Police Office at Nepalgunj of Banke, said this while talking to a team of visiting journalists including chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists Taranath Dahal today. He also said that his party was for constitutional monarchy and that the future course of the pro-democracy movement would be decided by the people themselves. Koirala told the visiting team that he was allowed to read only Gorkhapatra and The Rising Nepal. The team also met political prisoners kept in a temporary police station at Phultekra in Nepalgunj today. One of the detainees, Tilak Neupane, a National Assembly MP advised the parties to come up with single agenda for the agitation. Neupane along with seven other prisoners of Phultekra police station said separate agendas at the present situation would be a disaster for the country. The inmates of the police station had complained that they were barred from access to radio and newspapers.
