A woman died of seasonal flu at Rayagaun in Kharpunath Rural Municipality, Humla.

Local Purna Bahadur Rokaya said Chunda Buda, 36, died of the flu on Monday night. A large number of villagers were also taken ill due to flu.

Assistant Health Worker Bir Singh Rawal of Raya Health Post said around 20 patients visited the health post daily for treatment of seasonal flu. Rawal himself was taken ill and was not able to join office for the past one week. He added medicines in the health post were also running out of stock.

With the winter at its peak in the mountainous district, number of patients in all seven local levels of Humla has gone up.
