A teacher of Basant Lower Secondary School (BLSS) at Basa in Tilakpur has not received her salary for the past nine months due to negligence of the District Education Officer and the school.

The District Education Office transferred Man Maya Thapa, who was working as a temporary teacher at Shishu Kalyan primary school in Sardi to BLSS on May 5, 2003. She was transferred to replace a permanent teacher who was on sick leave.

The teacher resigned after joining the school for sometime while Thapa continued teaching. But the school has not allowed her to sign in the attendance register.

“Principal Motilal Kunwar and District Education Officer Ram Pravesh Yadav are trying to appoint one of their persons in my place,” Thapa claimed.

Principal Kunwar said Thapa was transferred as a temporary teacher and her term automatically terminated after the permanent teacher joined the school. The DEO has not yet handed over a letter to her notifying the same. DEO Yadav admitted that Thapa’s transfer procedure was erroneous.
