Security beefed up along border for festivals

KATHMANDU: Security has been tightened in Birgunj along the Indian border in view of upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhat festivals.

The security tightening aims to control any criminal and untoward activities that in general increase during festivals, said Superintendent of Police Rewati Dhakal.

Various police teams have been mobilised in the border areas in Parsa like Inaruwa Sirsiya, Aalau, Janaki Tole and Bhiswal, and the areas where there is a large movement of people like banks, bus stops and religious sites, said Dhakal.
