Preparations are under way to manage security for the November 20 House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections at different voting centres of Saptari.

Security will be managed in the polling stations by dividing the voting centres into three different categories. Voters can cast their ballots from 295 voting stations in the district. District Security Coordination Committee, including Nepali Army, has been preparing security management by dividing the 295 voting stations into three categories.

The committee is working on security after collecting information, carrying out feasibility study and analysis of the areas.

A meeting of District Administration Office, NA, Nepal Police and representatives from Investigation Department has decided to manage security keeping in the mind the sensitive, highly sensitive and average voting centres in the district. As many as 208 voting stations are highly sensitive, 83 are sensitive and four are normal.

Most of the highly sensitive centres are located near the Indian border.

SP Avinarayan Kafle at District Police Office, Saptari, said that tight security arrangements have been put in place at all the voting centres. SP Kafle added that security arrangements were made after a team deployed from the local administration, election office and security department reached the voting stations and analysed the security challenges there.
