Security guard found murdered in Biratnagar

A security guard was found murdered in a hardware shop of Bhrikuti Chowk in Biratnagar Metropolis today morning.

The deceased has been identified as Tanak Bhattarai, 50. His eyes were damaged. Bhattarai was working as a security guard at New Bikki Hardware.

New Bikki Hardware Director Nirab Agrawal said that Bhattarai, a resident of Jyotinagar, Biratnagar, was found dead when he opened the shop at 9:45am today.

Bhattarai, who was working in the hardware store through Akash Securities, had left for his night duty after he had meal at 2:00pm yesterdau. Family members had called Bhattari as he did not return till late today morning. His phone was switched off. So, his daughter Nabina called the Securities Proprietor Dipak Giri. Giri had reported to the family that Bhattarai was found killed.

Bhattarai, who always used to work in day time, was called for night duty last night.

The store’s employee Santosh Prasad Das and a security guard used to sleep at the shop. But, Santosh had gone home on Friday.  Bhattarai was found mercilessly murdered.

Today morning, a mosquito net was found installed over the bed. Bhattarai was found dead on the ground near the cot and his eyes were damaged. “Other body parts too have received injuries and cuts,” police said.  Morang DSP Nishan Thapa said an investigation into the incident had been launched.
