Securitymen torch pvt jeep

DHANGADHI: The security personnel who lost their jobs during the Maoist insurgency set fire on a private jeep belonging to Dambar Baruwal in the jungle of amakhaiya,Kailali during a protest on Thursday morning.

The vehicular movement in the Kailai- Kanchanpur section was disrupted for some time due to the chakkajam called by the ex-security persons. They have been demanding reinstatement and appropriate compensation.

According to the District Police Office,Kailali, a group of irate ex-securitymen torched a jeep. The police have arrested Dan Bahadur Rawal, Tanka BK and Mahesh Chaudhary from Pahalmanpur VDC in this connection, said SP Uttam Bahadur Singh.

The protesters warned of indefinite obstruction along the East West Highway from July 16 if the government failed to meet their demands.Only a small number of the vehicles plied on the road despite the assurance from the police to provide escorting.

Meanwhile,the transportation in Dang section of the East West Highway has been badly affected due to the indefinite bandh.
