Senior UN official to visit Nepal

Kathmandu, August 16:

UN Under Secretary General for Political Affairs B Lynn Pascoe is expected to arrive in Kathmandu over the weekend.

According to the UN’s official website, a UN spokesperson Michele Montas told reporters in New York on Wednesday that Pascoe would visit Nepal to discuss peace process with national

leaders and to consult with the UN Mission in Nepal (UNMIN). He is expected to meet Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and other key political leaders.

Prior to his Nepal tour, Pascoe will attend the Seventh Summit of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
