Serial shooters of so-called underground Tarai outfit nabbed

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has rounded up seven suspects, who fatally shot a 50-year-old man in Balabakha-4, Dhanusha on February 5.

CIB official had launched an all-out investigation to track down the suspects after the murder of Rajendra Prasad Yadav, local Nepali Congress leader.

The arrestees have been identified as Ram Rijhan Yadav aka Ajay (24) of Siraha, who identified himself as the military commander of so-called underground outfit 'Janatantrik Tiger Janashakti Party', Jogindar Mahato aka Anil Doctor (42), Amit Kumar Purbey (35), Nage Sah (22) and Shubh Narayan Yadav aka Dilip (24) of Dhanusha, and Bechan Paswan (24) and Jaslal Yadav (35) of Siraha. CIB has not disclosed where they were arrested from.

SP Dibesh Lohani said that the gang was also allegedly involved in shooting at Naseeb Muya Rain (45) and Sogarath Mahato (25) of Dhanusha, leaving them seriously injured in the Kamala River Bridge on February 6.

Rain is also a local Nepali Congress leader.

They have been handed over to the District Police Office, Dhanusha to proceed with further investigation into the incidents.
