Service centre row likely to end
Rautahat, February 11:
An all-party meeting held between the representatives of seven political parties and local administration here today decided to establish Integrated Administrative Service Centres (IASC) in all six constituencies of the district.
The meeting chaired by CDO Dr Kamaleshwor Kumar Sinha decided to establish IASCs in Chandranigahpur, Garuda Bairiya, Katahariya, Bankul, Rajpur Pharahadawa and Pipara.
The branches of Inland Revenue Office, Division Road Office, Water Induced Disaster Control Office and bench of Appellate Court, District Forest Office, Land Conservation Office, Ayurvedic Health Centre, Agricultural Inputs Corporation and Nepal Seeds Company would be established only after their district offices are shifted to district headquarters Gaur, according to CDO Dr Sinha.
He added that the service centres of Land Revenue Office, Survey Office, Land Reforms Office and Regional Administration Office would be opened in all the six places once their district offices were established in Gaur. The meeting also agreed to request the ministry concerned to bear all the expenses incurred in the setting up of the service centres.
Meanwhile, the indefinite bandh called in Chandranigahpur continued today as well. The bandh has crippled normal life in the town. Both long and short route vehicles stayed off the roads and the locals faced a shortage of daily essentials.
According to our Mahottari correspondent, an all-party meeting decided to open IASCs in six different places of the district. The IASCs will be established in Bardibas, Loharpatti, Ram Gopalpur, Manara Gaushala and Pipara. The meeting also decided to shift the offices of District Forest Office, District Land Conservation Office, District Traffic Office, Drinking Water and Sanitation Office back to district headquarters Jaleshwar. It decided to shift Janakpur-based district offices of Building Construction Department, Water Induced Disaster Control Office, Transport Management Office and Inland Revenue Office to Jaleswar.
However, the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum wrote note of dissent against establishing service centres in Pipara and Manara. Likewise, the Sadbhavana Party expressed its disagreement over the concept of service centres.
Meanwhile, the locals continued their indefinite bandh in Bardibas today as well. Our Sarlahi correspondent reported that an all-party meeting held here today decided to open service centres in Paschimi Gadaiya Dumariya and Purbi Haripuwa. An all-party meeting held in Bara decided to urge the government to open service centres in all the constituencies of the district.
