Two scorpios and parked auto-rickshaw involved in Bamnahar Chowk accident

RAUTAHAT, DECEMBER 2

Seven people sustained injuries in a three-way collision involving two Indian-registered Scorpio vehicles and a stationary auto-rickshaw at Bamnahar Chowk along the Gaur–Chandrapur road section on today.

According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, the accident occurred when a Scorpio bearing Indian registration number HR 28 D 7222 traveling from Badhaharwa towards Bara district and another Scorpio also with Indian registration number BR 07 PA 7584 coming from Chandrapur towards Gaur both struck a parked auto-rickshaw (Na 2 Ha 6525) at Yamunamai Rural Municipality-4, Bamnahar Chowk.

Police said the collision also caused damage to a nearby hotel owned by local resident Vijay Sah.

The injured have been identified as Pawan Yadav, 30, of Adarsh Kotwal Rural Municipality-7; Ankit Mahato, 11, of Barahathwa Municipality-14; Surendra Kumar Sah, 24, of Gaur Municipality-2; and Shivji Sah, 50, and Ram Dayal Sah, 52, of Rajdevi Municipality-8. Auto driver Mangal Patel, 39, of Yamunamai Rural Municipality-5, and 10-year-old Tarik Basta of Rajpur Municipality-3 were also hurt.

District Police Office spokesperson DSP Bishnu Pradeep Basyal said all seven were treated at the Provincial Hospital, Gaur, and discharged.

The drivers and vehicles involved in the incident have been taken into custody for further investigation.
