Seven women rescued from Jogbani

MORANG: The Morang Police has rescued seven trafficked Nepali women from the Jogbani Railway Station, the Nepal-India border line in Morang district.

Police Inspector Ganga Paudel said that the women were being trafficked to the Gulf nations via New Delhi of India in the name of foreign employment.

He further said that the rescued women, aged 21 to 37, are locals of Chitwan, Sankhuwasabha, Udayapur and Sunsari districts.

Police said that they were rescued at midnight yesterday from the Jogbani station in India based on a tip-off while the women were being trafficked to the Gulf nations via the Indian capital New Delhi.

Further investigation into the case is underway, they added.
