GAIGHAT: A man who had gone to graze cattle in a forest was found dead in Chaudandigadhi Municipality-8 of Udayapur district, on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Kitab Singh Rai (60) of Kattike in the municipality.

According to Beltar-based Area Police Office, Rai was found dead in Kattike forest by his relatives, at around midnight on Thursday. They had been looking for him after he did not return home in the evening as usual.

Police Inspector Buddhhi Chaulagain at the APO presumed that Rai might have died after falling from the tree he had climbed to collect the foliage.

The forest is at a distance of two kilometres from the house of the deceased.
