Shah murder accused sent to jail

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court (KDC) today sent media entrepreneur Jamim Shah killers to jail in order to proceed the case.

A single bench of judge Narayan Shrestha granted judicial custody to three accused — Prakash Chhetri, Laxman Dhamala and Kishor Khadka — based on the available evidence and No 118 (2) of the Court Procedure Chapter of Muluki Ain 1963.

The bench said that the judicial custody will last until a final decision on the case. Following the completion of the initial hearing and recording, the statement of the accused, the bench sent them to the central jail.

KDC Registrar Bharat Lamsal said KDC will issue warrant order to the accused Jagadish Chanda and Shreekrishna Paudel. Chand is former DSP.

Demanding up to 15 years jail term to them, the Kathmandu District Attorneys Office had filed the case at the KDC on March 11. Though the prosecutor could not identify the prime accused and demanded life sentence on the killer, they had sought up to 15 years jail term to the co-accused of assisting the killer to execute the order on February 7.
