Sher Bahadur Deuba receives Honorary Doctorate from JNU

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been conferred the Doctorate Degree by the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi amid a special ceremony in New Delhi of India on Sunday.

The JNU Vice-Chancellor Jagadesh Kumar had honoured the Nepali leader with the prestigious degree.

Issuing the press statement today itself, the Nepali Congress central office said Deuba became the first ever Nepali person to be honoured with the honorary degree from the prestigious institution.

Earlier, the University had honoured world renowned personalities including Nobel Peace laureate Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar and former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam, informed the statement.

Meanwhile, the party has extended its gratitude to the University for awarding the degree.
