Shun violence, focus on elections: CEC Yadav to parties
KATHMANDU: Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has urged the political parties to shun violence, maintain restraint and carry out their activities based on their political agendas.
Saying the ongoing agitation in Tarai districts has affected employees of the Election Commission also, Yadav asked all the government to ensure security to all the stakeholders.
He was addressing a programme organised to conclude two-day training to media corps on election coverage here in Kathmandu today.
He further made it clear that the Election Commission of Nepal was determined to hold the election in local level on May 14, and asked all the parties to focus on election.
Cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front had vandalised Yadav's house in Rajbiraj earlier today.
