Sightless do what many sighted can’t

All four visually-impaired examinees who appeared in the SLC examination from Chitwan district passed with first division. According to the Nepal Blind Association, Chitwan, Ramesh Chapagain and Rajesh Dumre of Narayani Secondary School, Bharatpur, and Prateeksha Kandel of Aroma English School, Bharatpur, and Pragya Regmi of Gandi Boarding Secondary School, Mangalpur, scored first division.

In Bara, the four visually-impaired examinees came off with flying colours. Nil Kantha Timilsina got distinction, Sudhir Chaudhari and Shyam Sundar Mahato obtained first division while Surendra Chaudhari passed with second division, a local social worker Bidur K Khadka said.

Although they did not learn the Braille, they apeared for the SLC examinations on the basis of what they had heard and learnt in class, Khadka told the media.
