KATHMANDU, JULY 19

Out of 65 missing passengers in the Simaltaal bus plunge incident, two bodies were found in West Champaran, Bihar State of India, according to the Armed Police Force (APF).

The APF reported that the identities of 15 out of the 23 bodies retrieved so far have been confirmed, while eight male bodies and one female body remain unidentified.

APF Deputy Spokesperson Shailendra Thapa informed that bodies were recovered from Golaghat, Saalbas, and Sisbar in the Chitwan district. Additional bodies were found on the riverbanks at Gaindakot, Bhutaha, and the Triveni barrage area in Nawalpur.

Deputy Spokesperson Thapa also shared that two bodies were found in the Narayani River at Champaran Nagaha last Thursday. These bodies were brought to Nepal in coordination with and in the presence of India's SSB team, Nepal's APF Border Outpost team, Nepal Police, and local representatives.

It is worth noting that two buses were swept away by a landslide in Simaltal of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 in the Chitwan district on July 12, disappearing into the Trishuli River.

Of the 65 passengers on the buses, three managed to save their lives, while 62 went missing. The APF has so far recovered the bodies of 23 missing passengers.
