KATHMANDU, JULY 20

The District Administration Office in Sindhuli has issued a public alert, warning residents of potential heavy rainfall, increased river risks, and the need for heightened caution on major highways from Saturday night, until Monday, July 21. The alert comes following information from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) indicating a high probability of intense precipitation.

The notice specifically highlights the Sunkoshi River and its tributaries, along with surrounding riverbanks, as areas of particular concern due to the anticipated rise in water levels and associated hazards. Residents living in these vicinities are strongly advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

In addition to riverine threats, the District Administration Office has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution while driving on the B.P. Highway and the Mid-Hill Highway. Travelers are instructed to adhere strictly to the directives issued by traffic police and other security agencies to ensure their safety.

The DAO has appealed to all local government bodies, relevant stakeholders, and the general public to actively cooperate in efforts to mitigate potential disaster risks during this period.
