Siraha Hospital faces medicine shortage due to bandh

LAHAN: The Siraha District Hospital is reeling under the shortage of medicines due to an indefinite strike enforced by the United Democratic Madhesi Front, health workers said.

Dr Dayashankar Lal Karna, medical superintendent of the hospital, said that there is a shortage of the medicines to be distributed for free and medical equipment.

The hospital said that it receives 30 to 35 patients, from within the district, neighbouring districts and some parts of India, suffering from common cold, viral fever, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhoea on a daily basis.
