Siraha, April 26:

Jailbirds of Siraha prison launched a strike today against what they called misuse of money by the prison administration in connection with the treatment of sick prisoners.

The prisoners obstructed the administration employees from counting the prisoners and barred them from entering into the prison, the prison source said. They demanded that the prison’s doctor Bindeshwor Yadav and accountant Parameshwor Jha be transferred immediately.

Gatekeeper of the prison Mohammad Atabul Khan said they were forced to agitate after the jail administration did not provide treatment and other health facilities to over 10 prisoners who are sick.
