RAJBIRAJ: Police arrested six persons with weapons from Dumari Shivathan in Rajbiraj-10 on Wednesday night.

The arrested have been identified as Binod Kumar Yadav of Basabitti in India's Arariya district, Krishna Kumar Yadav alias Krish, Mahendra Yadav and Jayanarayan Yadav of Rampura Malhaniyan VDC-3 in Saptari, Birendra Yadav of Rampura Malhaniyan-5 and Shivanarayan Yadav of Rajbiraj-6.

The APF team, acting upon a tip-off, arrested them in possession of a revolver and bullets, while they were fleeing on a Jeep with Indian registration plate. “The arrested are kept in detention at District Police Office,” the police said. DSP Sudan Singh Basnet, however, expressed ignorance about the arrest.

Meanwhile, one Shivanandan Sah of Rajbiraj-10 was injured when a gang opened fire at him on Friday. Om Thakur, a local resident, has been arrested on charges of opening fire at Sah.
