KATHMANDU: Six people including five members of a single family were buried to death as landslides occurred at Daud VDC of Doti district on Monday night.

The deceased have been identified as Gaura Devi Bista (35), her two sons -- 12-year-old Harka Bista and five-year-old Birendra Bista,  and daughters -- eight-year-old Saru Bista and eight-month-old Bhawana Bista-- of Daud VDC-3.

Dambar Bahadur, Gaura Devi's husband, was injured in the incident.

Similarly, Champadevi Singh (75), of Daud VDC-1 died after landslide hit her her house, according to Assistant Sub Inspector Nabaraj Awasthi at Daud Police Post.

Awasthi said that rescue operation has been affected due to incessant rainfall.

Details of the damage caused by the landslides have not been received yet.

The communication service has now been disrupted in the area.
