Okhaldhunga, March 31

Six persons died on the spot and three others were critically injured after a jeep met with an accident in Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality, Okhaldhunga, today.

The deceased are Mingma Sherpa, his wife Doma Sherpa of Taplejung, Nurbu Sherpa, Yawang Thaget Sherpa, Sangela Sherpa and Nima Sherpa of Kathmandu.

According to District Police Office, Okhaldhunga, the accident occurred when the jeep, which was en route Kathmandu from Junbeshi Gumba of Solukhumbu, fell around 350 metres below the road at around 12:00 noon today.

DSP at Okhaldhunga DPO Puspa Raj Malla said the jeep driver Krishna Shrestha, Kunsang Sherpa and Mingma’s son Bajel, 8, sustained serious injuries.
